Ministry of Health and Welfare “Expanding the area of social security with computerized management numbers”
The Ministry of Health and Welfare (Minister Cho Kyu-hong) announced that it will reform and implement the Social Security computerized management number system from July 3 with the purpose of further strengthening welfare for the welfare vulnerable.
The Social Security Computer Management Number (Computer Management Number) is a number that plays the same role as a resident registration number to provide welfare benefits to those who have difficulty receiving social security benefits. The recently revised Social Security Benefits Act (effective July 3) legally regulates the issuance and use of this number, effectively supporting the use and provision of social security benefits and the discovery of beneficiaries.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Health and Welfare revised the Enforcement Decree and Enforcement Rules of the Social Security Benefits Act, stipulated 11 types of social security benefits that can be paid through computerized management numbers, and established new methods for issuing and operating computerized management numbers. In addition, local governments across the country have established a policy called “Guide to the Integrated Operation of Social Security Computer Management Numbers” to provide necessary guidelines for issuing computerized management numbers and paying benefits. In addition, the function of the Social Security Information System (Happy Connection) is also being improved. there is.
When information about a welfare recipient is entered into the Happy Connection system, a computerized management number is automatically generated, which makes it possible to link social security benefits and manage history within the administrative computer network. As a result, the work efficiency of front-line local government officials is greatly increased.
The newly introduced computerized management number, along with the resident registration number, will enable systematic management to prevent duplicate receipt of welfare benefits. In addition, it is expected that it will be helpful in establishing related policies as beneficiary data can be managed and analyzed through computerized management numbers.
Welfare Administration Support Officer Imgi said, “We have laid the foundation for reducing welfare blind spots in our society by establishing a legal basis for the granting and use of social security computerized management numbers and improving related systems,” and added, “We have laid the foundation for reducing welfare blind spots through computerized management numbers.” “I hope we can give new hope to the people in the area,” he emphasized.
