Ministry of Employment and Labor conducts special supervision of occupational safety and health for two weeks in relation to fire accident at Hwaseong Aricell factory
The Ministry of Employment and Labor (Minister Lee Jeong-sik) announced that it will implement special supervision of occupational safety and health for two weeks from today (July 3) in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act in relation to the fire accident at the Hwaseong Aricell factory that occurred on June 24.
For this special supervision, the maximum possible human resources will be deployed at once, excluding personnel for accident scene cleanup, bereaved family support, and serious disaster investigation personnel.
In this special supervision, we plan to closely investigate compliance with all safety and health rules required by the Occupational Safety and Health Act, focusing on fire and explosion prevention status, safety and health education, emergency response system, and safety and health management system.
The company announced that it would present improvement directions for legal violations identified in the inspection results and that it would take administrative action and, if necessary, judicial action in accordance with the law, and provide guidance to increase safety awareness.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Employment and Labor is conducting emergency on-site guidance on major battery manufacturing sites on June 27, and is also preparing planned inspections to prevent safety accidents such as fires at similar or similar workplaces.
