Former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon appointed honorary advisor to the Korea International Trade Association (KITA)

The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) announced on June 18 that it had appointed former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon as an honorary advisor. This appointment is evaluated as an opportunity to contribute former Secretary-General Ban’s outstanding diplomacy and trade expertise to the institution.

Jinsik Yoon, Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association, said, “Former President Ban has distinguished himself on the global diplomacy and trade stage and has experience in taking on various international responsibilities. “His role as Honorary Advisor will play an important role in helping the Association strengthen its competitiveness in international markets and create a sustainable trade environment.”

Regarding this appointment, former Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said, “As an honorary advisor to the Korea International Trade Association, I hope to contribute to Korea’s trade development based on my experience and expertise. “We will contribute to further enhancing Korea’s reputation in the international community through close cooperation with countries around the world.”
