Over the weekend, the first heat wave warning of this year may be issued throughout the inland. It is expected that the perceived temperature will rise above 33 degrees.
On the morning of the 17th, Saturday, the lowest temperature is 16 to 23 degrees, and the highest temperature during the day is 27 to 34 degrees.
The day will be clear and the sun will be strong, and the daytime temperature will rise significantly.
The expected minimum and maximum temperatures for major cities are 19 and 31 degrees in Seoul, 19 and 27 degrees in Incheon, 19 and 33 degrees in Daejeon, 20 and 34 degrees in Gwangju and Daegu, 20 and 32 degrees in Ulsan, and 21 and 29 degrees in Busan.
The lowest temperature on the morning of the 18th is 18 to 24 degrees, and the highest temperature during the day is 25 to 34 degrees.
The ‘special heat wave’ heat will continue until the 19th. This is because on the 20th and 21st, it is expected that the whole country will be cloudy and rain due to low pressure passing over the southern sea of Jeju. It is not the beginning of the rainy season because it is raining as the low pressure passes while the static front stays in the distant sea south of Jeju.

From 9 am on the 17th until the sun goes down, the nationwide UV index will be ‘high’ or ‘very high’, and the 18th will be similar. High UV index is ‘enough to burn the skin even if exposed to the sun for 1-2 hours’, and very high is ‘enough to burn the skin even if exposed to the sun for tens of minutes’.
Ozone will be at the ‘very bad’ level in Jeonnam and Ulsan on the 17th, and at the ‘bad’ level in the rest of the region. On the 18th, ozone was at a very bad level in southern Gyeonggi-do, and it would be at a bad level in the rest of the region except Yeongdong and Jeju, Gangwon. Yeongdong, Gangwon and Jeju are expected to have ‘normal’ ozone levels on the 18th.
