The ChatGPT test was first conducted at Inha University located in Michuhol-gu, Inchinseo on the 19th.

The ChatGPT application test was introduced for the first time in the midterm exam for Introduction to Nano-Biotechnology at the Department of Biotechnology at Inha University. The exam started, but students took out their laptops or tablet PCs from their bags and put ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence AI chatbot, on the screen to enter questions.

An official from Inha University explained that on this day, ‘We took the ChatGPT application test for the first time among domestic universities.’ It is a different landscape from the past, when students used open books to write and submit answers during college exams.

Then he added, ‘Writing out the content that appears when using ChatGPT is prohibited,’ adding, ‘It is a test in the form of creating new answers and submitting them online by adding the knowledge that the student knew through the test using ChatGPT.’

With ChatGPT emerging as a hot topic, universities seem to be actively seeking ways to utilize it. Inha University students who took the test agreed that although ChatGPT still has limitations in providing perfect answers, it is worth using.

Not only Inha University but also other universities are busy preparing guidelines for ChatGPT to be used in their educational process due to the vast potential of ChatGPT. Incheon National University recently made guidelines for the use of ChatGPT. This is to prevent students from abusing technology, such as cheating with ChatGPT.

Yonsei University and Korea University have also created policies for learning using artificial intelligence, such as ChatGPT, and are guiding students to the principles of using it. In the case of Yonsei University, when using ChatGPT, it also issued a guideline asking students to review the results themselves.

On the other hand, the ChatGPT is a generative AI chatbot that learns vast amounts of data and creates new data just like humans.
