President Lee, press conference one month after taking office… July 3rd ‘town hall meeting’ format

The president will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. on July 3rd, marking his 30th day in office.

This press conference will be titled “The President’s 30th Day, Asked by the Press and Answered by the People,” and will be divided into areas such as livelihood and economy, politics and foreign affairs and security, and society and culture, according to presidential spokesperson Kang Yoo-jung in a briefing.

Accordingly, it will be held in the form of a town hall meeting to allow for closer communication with reporters.

Regarding this press conference, Spokesperson Kang explained, “It will be a place to announce the early stabilization of the Lee Jae-myung government, which started without a transition committee, and to actively communicate about the future direction of state administration and major policies.”

However, he mentioned, “The press conference on the 30th day of inauguration will be made public at this time, but the location is still under embargo and will be announced later.”

Meanwhile, in response to a question about “why the press conference was moved up to the 30th day rather than around the 100th day of inauguration,” Spokesperson Kang answered that it was to provide answers to many people’s questions and concerns, as well as questions about future policy directions, even though it has already been over a month.

He added that this is an expression of the president’s will to actively communicate about the future direction of state administration and major policies, and to directly and actively answer questions and concerns that people always ask and are curious about, like in a town hall meeting format.
