Head of Trade Negotiation Headquarters Delivers Message of Hope to Young Trade Talents

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (Minister Ahn Deok-geun) and the Korea International Trade Association held the 2025 Regional Expert Training Program (GTEP) graduation and inauguration ceremony at COEX on Friday, March 28 at 2:00 PM and encouraged young trade talents.
With today’s graduation and inauguration ceremony as an opportunity, 700 college students across the country will undergo 15 months of global trade theory and practical training in export fields.
The Global Trade Expert Development Program (GTEP), which began in 2007, has established itself as a true representative trade talent development program in Korea, with over 10,000 graduates working in various export fields, living up to its 19-year history and tradition.
In his congratulatory speech, Jeong In-gyo, the head of the Trade Negotiation Headquarters, emphasized, “In order for our exports to turn crises into opportunities even in difficult domestic and international situations, we must continuously discover promising export items and open up new sales channels.” He also urged, “I hope that the young trade talents will take over the export history of their senior traders and grow into next-generation trade talents based on the trade theories they learned in the lecture hall and the practical experience they gained through industry-academia cooperation.”
The government also announced that it will continue to support global marketing such as exhibitions and export consultations, expand export financing such as trade insurance, and enhance trade infrastructure so that young trade talents can be active in the global market.
