During the English listening test for the college entrance exam, even the sky stops
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (Minister Park Sang-woo) announced that it will control all takeoffs and landings of aircraft nationwide for 35 minutes from 1:05 PM to 1:40 PM on Thursday, November 14, when the English listening portion of the 2025 College Scholastic Ability Test will be administered.
During this time, takeoffs and landings of all aircraft except emergency and critical aircraft are prohibited, and aircraft in flight must wait at an altitude of 3 km or higher.
Accordingly, the flight times of 156 flights (58 international flights and 98 domestic flights) scheduled to operate during that time period will be adjusted, and each airline plans to notify passengers of any flight changes in advance.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s Aviation Traffic Headquarters will maintain a real-time cooperative system with air traffic control agencies, Korea Airports Corporation, Incheon International Airport Corporation, and each airline to ensure smooth implementation of aircraft takeoff and landing control, and will actively implement air traffic flow management measures such as adjusting departure times in advance to minimize aerial waiting or flight delays due to aircraft operation control.
Yoo Kyung-soo, director of aviation safety policy at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said, “Passengers using airplanes on the day of the CSAT should definitely check the departure time and actively cooperate with this measure to reduce test-taker noise.”
