Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism welcomes Korean athletes returning home after completing the ‘2024 Paris Paralympics’
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Yoo In-chon, hereinafter referred to as MCST) will hold a disbandment ceremony for the Korean team participating in the ‘2024 Paris Paralympics’ at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, September 10th in cooperation with the Korea Paralympic Committee (Chairman Chung Jin-wan) at the Great Hall of Incheon International Airport Terminal 2. Vice Minister Jang Mi-ran will cheer on our team at the Paris Paralympics site, attend the closing ceremony, and then participate in the disbandment ceremony.
About 160 athletes, including the Korea Paralympic Committee Chairman Jin-Wan Jeong and Team Manager Dong-Hyeon Bae, are expected to attend this event. They will present flower bouquets to the athletes, report on the results of the competition, and take part in short-term returns, interviews with the athletes, and commemorative photos.
The Paris Paralympics, held from Tuesday, August 27 to Sunday, September 8, was a competition in which 4,400 athletes from 182 countries participated in 22 sports. Korea won a total of 30 medals (6 gold, 10 silver, 14 bronze), ranking 22nd overall.
Vice Minister Jang Mi-ran said, “I congratulate our national team for successfully completing all their matches and returning home safely. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all those who helped the players who brought honor to the Republic of Korea achieve such great results.”
