Resolution on temporary public holiday for Armed Forces Day (October 1)
October 1st Armed Forces Day is designated as a temporary public holiday.
The Ministry of Personnel Management (Director Yeon Won-jeong) announced that the ‘Proposal to Designate Armed Forces Day (October 1) as a Temporary Public Holiday’ was submitted to and approved by the State Council on the 3rd.
The purpose of designating this temporary public holiday was to raise the public’s awareness of security, boost the morale and pride of the military, and hold Armed Forces Day events with the public.
As the ‘Armed Forces Day (October 1) Temporary Holiday Designation Plan’ passed the State Council, the Ministry of Personnel Management will immediately begin follow-up measures* to confirm the temporary holiday.
In order to minimize inconvenience to the public, we plan to request related ministries, such as public office civil affairs offices and daycare center operations, to prepare advance measures in accordance with the designation of temporary public holidays by presidential approval, official gazette notice, etc.
