Ministry of Foreign Affairs holds a special lecture on ‘Unrealize your dreams on the international stage’ to celebrate summer vacation
On July 27, during the summer vacation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs invited about 130 middle and high school students interested in the field of diplomacy to the Diplomatic History Museum in Seocho-dong, Seoul, and held a special lecture on the topic, ‘Unfold your dreams on the international stage!’
Former Ambassador Ma Young-sam, who was the speaker at this lecture, is a veteran diplomat who worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for 35 years and served as the Permanent Mission to Palestine, the Ambassador to Israel and Denmark, and the first Public Diplomacy Ambassador. He passionately conveyed his vivid experiences on the international stage gained while traveling around the world.
The lecture was divided into two sessions. In the first session, the international situation and the role of diplomats were explained in an easy-to-understand way to students, and in the second session, time was spent directly communicating with students through answers to questionnaires submitted in advance.
One student who attended said, “I wanted to become a diplomat, but I was vague about what I would do specifically, but I learned a lot from the ambassador’s lecture today. “It was very beneficial for me to know what to study and prepare for in the future,” he said.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that it hopes that this lecture will provide inspiration to students dreaming of careers related to diplomacy, and that it plans to continue to hold various special lectures in the future to help more students grow into global leaders.
