Ministry of Food and Drug Safety appoints a person in charge of supporting overseas export of food and medicine.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (Minister Oh Yoo-kyung) announced that it will support overseas expansion of food and pharmaceutical companies by designating an export manager (Product Manager, PM) system.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on the 27th that it has designated export managers in five fields, including food, health functional foods, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and beauty products.
Based on this, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety will support companies in resolving difficulties such as lack of local regulatory information and regulatory barriers in exporting countries, and exports participated by government ministries and related associations such as the Korea Food Industry Association, Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio Association, and Korean Cosmetic Association. A support council will also be operated.
It was reported that the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety plans to operate the ‘R2B’ (Regularory to Business) program to enable domestic companies to communicate directly with foreign regulatory agencies, such as holding briefing sessions for foreign regulatory officials and dispatching joint public-private missions.
