Government and Young Chefs Discuss Future of Korean Food
How to develop the Korean food industry and nurture highly-competent people was discussed among the Ministry, young chefs, Michelin-starred chefs, and those from academia and industry.
The shared opinions will be reflected to the “Strategic Plan for Strengthening the Global Competitiveness of the Korean Food Industry” to be announced next month. with young chefs to discuss the development of the Korean food industry at Hansik Space E:eum, a place for sharing of Korean food culture, in Seoul on 18 January.
Regarding the global popularity and competitiveness of Korean food as well as nurturing highly-competent people, diverse opinions were shared among Vice Minister Han Hoon, young chefs, Michelin-starred chefs, and those from academia and industry (CJ CheilJedang, the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, etc.).
Vice Minister Han Hoon said: “Amid a global craze for Hallyu, or the Korean wave, we are now seeing the golden age of Korean food. The future of Korean food lies in people after all. I would like to ask all of you here to play a leading role in enhancing the national status through Korean food.”
Meanwhile, the Ministry will announce the “Strategic Plan for Strengthening the Global Competitiveness of the Korean Food Industry” in February.
