The Ministry of Happiness (Director Hyung-ryeol Kim) awarded awards to five outstanding civil servants for proactive administration in the second half of 2024 at the conference room in Building 6 of the Sejong Government Complex on Monday, January 6.

In order to spread and establish a culture of proactive administration in the public service sector, the Ministry of Happiness selects excellent civil servants for proactive administration twice a year, once in the first half of the year and once in the second half of the year.

The grand prize in the second half of this year went to Kim Myeong-rin, a manager in charge of public office building construction. Manager Kim, as a new construction manager with a low level of experience, created a handbook titled “Basics of Construction Projects” that summarizes the core content of his duties in order to resolve difficulties he encountered while performing his duties. Through this, he was recognized for his achievements in improving the efficiency of work within the organization by supplementing the weaknesses of new managers in process and safety management, and establishing an organic work know-how sharing system by holding briefing sessions and learning groups based on the handbook.

The Excellence Award was given to two people. The first recipient was Lee Jong-beom, a manager in the Innovation Administration Office, who was recognized for his contribution to significantly improving the level of integrity by cooperating with construction site personnel to expand integrity promotion activities and face-to-face integrity education and producing online integrity content. The second recipient was Moon Cheol-jin, a manager in the Urban Policy Division, who was recognized for his contribution to successfully hosting the nation’s first commercial space vacancy fair by closely cooperating with relevant organizations to resolve the issue of vacant commercial spaces in Happy City.

The Encouragement Award was given to Han Jae-hong, the Chief of Urban Space Architecture, and Lim Seok-hoon, the Innovative Administration Officer. According to the “Active Administration Operation Regulations,” outstanding civil servants in active administration are given special personnel benefits such as awards, promotion points, and bonuses.

Commissioner of Happiness Kim Hyung-ryeol congratulated the winners and said, “I hope that creative and passionate efforts will lead to public services,” and added, “We will continue to create a better city of happiness through proactive administration centered on the people, and produce direct results that the people can feel.”
