Promoting recognition of safety data from domestic institutions when exporting cosmetics to China
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on the 18th that it invited the National Institute for Food and Drug Safety of China (NIFDC) to support the export of domestic cosmetics to China and held a technology exchange meeting in the cosmetics field at the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in Osong, North Chungcheong Province.
NIFDC is an agency under China’s National Pharmaceutical Supervision and Administration (NMPA), and is in charge of licensing and review of cosmetics, etc.
At this meeting, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety plans to promote a plan to replace the safety analysis results that must be submitted when exporting domestic cosmetics to China with data from Korean testing laboratories and to exchange cosmetics testing and evaluation technologies.
We also plan to discuss ways to relax data recognition requirements when exporting special-purpose cosmetics, such as cosmetics used to prevent hair loss and sunscreen, to China.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety explained that this meeting is a follow-up to the agreement reached at the director-level bilateral cooperation meeting between the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and China NMPA in May.
At the time, the two organizations discussed ways to cooperate, including technical cooperation in the field of testing and evaluation and regularization of director-level cooperation meetings.
