Former national team striker Lee Jae-young (27), who was expelled from domestic women’s volleyball due to controversy over school violence, appears to have decided to retire.

Lee Jae-young said on his fan cafe on the 14th, “After a long time of thinking, I have come to say this. I do not want to play volleyball again while admitting to things I did not do.”

“I came to this decision after a difficult process, but now I feel relieved,” he said, adding, “Please remember the good side of volleyball player Lee Jae-young and support him in his second life.”

Jae-young Lee and her twin sister Lee Da-young were exposed as victims of school violence during middle school, and were subject to indefinite suspension from competition and suspension from Heungkuk Life Insurance and the Korea Volleyball Association in February 2021.
