Korean Intellectual Property Office actively supports exports through priority examination of domestic trademarks

As a result, the priority screening processing period for Hallyu trademarks is expected to be reduced by more than 20% compared to the previous year to two months at the end of this year.

In addition to on-site communication with corporate officials, the meeting also discussed ways to improve the priority screening of Hallyu trademarks and strategies for preventing and responding to disputes by Korean companies that have entered overseas markets.

Kim Wan-ki, head of the Korean Intellectual Property Office, said, “We will strengthen customized support so that Korean companies can quickly secure rights by actively utilizing the trademark priority screening system and actively respond to trademark disputes such as unauthorized preoccupation or counterfeit products overseas.”
