New applications for the ‘K-Pass’ card, whose benefits will be applied from the 1st of next month, will begin on the 24th of this month, a week before launch.

The Metropolitan Area Transportation Committee of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 22nd that it will begin issuing K-Pass cards with 10 cooperative card companies from the 24th.

With K-Pass, if you regularly use public transportation such as city/village buses, subways, metropolitan buses, or GTX more than 15 times a month, a certain percentage of the amount spent will be refunded to the general public (20%), young people (30%), and low-income people (53%) in the following month. This is a transportation card you can receive. Benefits will begin from the launch date on the 1st of next month.

Participating card companies include Kookmin, Nonghyup, BC (BC Baro, Gwangju Bank, IBK Industrial Bank, K Bank), Samsung, Shinhan, Woori, Hana, Hyundai, DGB U-Pay, and the Joy of Moving (Mobile Easy, Kakao Pay mobile transportation card) etc. Each card company provides additional benefits depending on usage performance, and issuance applications and detailed information can be found on each card company’s website.

In order to receive K-Pass benefits, you must not only issue a K-Pass card but also go through the process of converting to an economical transportation card member or registering as a new K-Pass member.

Users who are using an existing economical transportation card can continue to receive K-Pass benefits through a simple membership conversion process (economical card → K-Pass) on the economical card app or website (alcard.kr) without issuing additional cards or registering as a member. there is.

New subscribers can receive benefits through a new registration process on the K-Pass app or website (korea-pass.kr), which will be released on the 1st of next month. New subscribers can also apply for both the Economical Transportation Card benefits and K-Pass benefits by registering as a member of the Economical Transportation Card from the 24th to the 30th of this month and then converting to membership.

However, if you do not go through the membership conversion process or new membership registration process, the K-Pass benefits will not be applied immediately even if you receive a card. It applies from the date of membership conversion or new membership registration.
