International Beauty Industry Trade Association (IBITA) Chairman Yoon Ju-taek said that IBITA will participate in the “2023 Brazil Beauty Fair” to be held in Brazil, which is the world’s third-largest consumer of beauty products and accounts for 18% of the global market, for domestic cosmetics and beauty companies to enter the South American market. Since 2012, as a representative of Korea, the Korean Pavilion has been organized, and 15 to 20 companies have been scheduled to participate each year, and recruitment of exhibitors has begun.
In particular, Brazilian buyers are very interested in Korean products as they visit Korea for the schedule of the 2nd Latin America (Brazil) Purchasing Delegation Mission Korea event co-hosted with this “IBITA and Brazil Beauty Fair”. Interest is also focused on the overall beauty industry in Korea. IBITA plans to separately announce the recruitment of participating companies for the “2nd South American Purchasing Delegation Mission Korea” buyer matching and network event in May.
The Brazil Beauty Fair is the world’s second-largest and Latin American beauty field exhibition, and is a must-have for entering the Brazilian domestic market as well as Latin America. Participation using government support, individual vouchers, or receiving support from local governments has the effect of reducing the burden on companies for which participation costs are greatly reduced.
The 2023 Brazil Beauty Fair (Beauty Fair 2023) will be held at Expo Center Norte, Sao Paulo, Brazil, from September 09 to 12, 2023 (4 days), 84,000sqm, 1,000 companies from 20 countries, and more than 300,000 people are expected to attend. Organizers expect.
Popular exhibited items are cosmetics (color, functional skin care) / hair products / nail care and manicure / spa & esthetic / beauty products, etc., which are attracting attention from buyers.
According to the Brazilian Cosmetics Industry Association (ABIHPEC), the Brazilian cosmetics market is the largest market in Latin America and the third largest after the United States and China. Despite the economic recession, only the cosmetics market continues to grow, and in particular, it is said that a positive effect can be obtained by targeting the Brazilian cosmetics market with ‘mid-priced’ and ‘eco-friendly’ products, which are currently trending in the Brazilian cosmetics market.
Brazil’s cosmetics market accounts for about 1.9% of its GDP, and the Brazil Beauty Fair is the second largest in the world and the most influential exhibition in the beauty field in Latin America.
Although Korean cosmetics have not entered the Brazilian market in earnest, they are gaining a good reputation among Brazilian consumers, and positive effects are expected as BB creams, mask packs, makeup, and hair and nail products are spreading through word of mouth.
In particular, an official said, ‘The Brazilian men’s beauty product market has doubled in size over the past five years, and it is expected to grow by 7.1% by 2019 and rank first in the world for men’s beauty products in the future’.
