What is the future of the food and restaurant industry as seen by the ‘Black and White Chef’?

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (Minister Song Mee-ryeong) and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT, President Hong Moon-pyo) will hold the ‘2025 Food and Restaurant Industry Outlook’ event for two days from November 20th to 21st at COEX D Hall in Samseong-dong, Seoul.

This event, with the slogan of ‘The Future of Innovation, the Future of Coexistence, the Future of Positivity’, presents the future prospects for the food and restaurant industry facing a rapidly changing environment and focuses on practical content. Various topics such as changes in food culture, generational changes, Corona and Endemic will be covered.

The event will begin with a presentation on ‘2025 Food and Restaurant Industry Trends and Forecasts’ by global trend research firms Mintel and Circana. Next, Seoul National University Professor Moon Jeong-hoon will present next year’s food trends centered on seven keywords: ▲ Koreans’ daily diet ▲ New opportunities in the convenience food market ▲ Convenience store fresh convenience food ▲ Food company ESG.

In addition, Vibe Company Lifestyle Change Observatory Director Park Hyeon-yeong, GS Retail Manager Kim Dae-jong, Buruguru CEO Park Sang-jae, and Kurly MD Headquarters Director Seo Gwi-saeng will cover issues that are drawing attention in the industry, such as changes in food culture, e-commerce competitiveness, large-capacity and funsumer trends, innovative new product success strategies, and stories of growth together with startups. There will also be a discussion on ‘The Future of K-Food as Told by Chefs’ with the cast of ‘Black and White Chef’, the talk of the town.

For those in the restaurant industry, lectures by Park Sam-hwa, managing director of Daejeon’s famous bakery Seongsimdang, chef Nam Jun-young of Yongridan-gil in Seoul, and Lim Jae-won, CEO of global franchise Gopizza, are also planned. In addition, lectures by famous speakers representing the food and restaurant industry, such as Kim Il-do, CEO of Ildo Family, and Hwang Seung-jun, CEO of Bangbang Makguksu, are scheduled.

Pre-registration is available until November 13th at the FIS Food Industry Statistics Information website (atfis.or.kr) operated by aT. This outlook event will be broadcast live on the aT official YouTube channel (youtube.com/atwebtv), and various prize events such as comment events for participants will also be held.
