IBITA – INTERVIEW TO Các câu hỏi, Vietnam VINEXAD

1. How should the agricultural and cosmetics industries overcome the Pandemic crisis?

For Agriculture sector: Like other industries, Vietnam agriculture has been facing many challenges caused by the COVID-19 epidemic. Many agricultural products have been restricted to export; the output is affected due to the decrease in food demand from restaurants, hotels and tourism. However, the domestic market especially for organic and fresh agricultural products receives more attention, because besides controlling the disease, there is a demand for high performing food products, food hygiene and safety insurance which are the major concerns of the public.

For beauty sector: There are still many immediate difficulties, as economic activity declines due to the epidemic, people’s income has been severely affected in a range of ways, consumers intend to spend less on beauty products.

4. After Corona 19, what is considered important in Vietnam and Asia?

This is a question on the macro level, but from my point of view, focusing on economic development, revitalizing major industries such as agriculture, processing agricultural products, tourism … are the main focus of post-pandemic recovery.

5. Will the exhibition continue to be held this year? What are the organizers preparing for this?

2021 is expected to be a year that our exhibitions will be held again. The first come back of the year is the Vietnam Expo which will be held in mid-April. Next are the specialized exhibitions as scheduled. However, in order to adapt to this period, exhibitions will be carried out in the digital transformation direction with more emphasis on online meetings. In addition to the standard offline booths, the exhibitions will have more virtual booths, remote booths and online meetings held simultaneously, increasing participation efficiency for exhibitors.

6. The biggest topic of the global economy will be “Resilience.”
How do you think the more resilient the economic players are, the more successful they are in recovery mode, the more successful they can win?

This is a macro-level question, however, from our own perspective, in the other major economies, the output remained on average around 5% below pre-pandemic levels.  Hardest hit of all have been the Pacific Island countries.  Economic performance has depended on the effectiveness of virus containment, the ability to take advantage of the revival of international trade, and the capacity of governments to provide fiscal and monetary policies.

The World Bank forecasts that, due to the impact of the pandemic, the remaining major economies will grow at an average rate of only about 4.6% which is slightly lower than the pre-pandemic growth rate. The recovery of tourism-dependent small island developing states is expected to be particularly difficult.

7. Please give us a brief description of the current situation in your country.

The Covid-19 pandemic, which has spread out in the end of 2019 and has brought upon unprecedented challenges to all countries in the world, still remains complicated. The global economy fell into a serious recession; the Vietnamese economy has been also significantly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, through several COVID-19 outbreaks, with the drastic action of the government and the cooperation of the people, Vietnam has basically managed to contain COVID-19, reopening the economy and supporting businesses activity to resume.

More than a year into the COVID-19 pandemic, the developing economies of East Asia and the Pacific are facing a markedly uneven recovery, but Vietnam has followed a V-shape recovery path with output surpassing pre-COVID-19 levels, according to the World Bank’s latest economic update for the region, released on March 26.

8. Despite your careful plans so far, what has changed, what problems have occurred, and what plans do you have for the organizers of each country in the future?

When the epidemic occurred, Vietnam as well as other countries have been working together to build and aim to digitally transform into a virtual exhibition combined with online meetings. However, during the implementation, there were also many difficulties in technical background, habits of customers and especially the effectiveness of the online model for exhibitors. Therefore, VINEXAD also consider these factors and find the most suitable direction to organize our events in the most effective way and provide the best support for customers.

9. If the number of Covid cases remains stable for some time, I think trade shows can be held again in some areas. How much is the Vietnamese market changing?

In 2020, due to the impact of COVID epidemic, no offline exhibition event was held in Vietnam, apart from a number of events organized by our company Vinexad and another event – Vietbuild. At our events in 2020, we will mainly conduct shows in the form of Hybrid show including standard booths, remote booths and online business matching.

In 2021, until now, no offline events have been held in Vietnam, apart from some online B2B events. In the coming time, Vinexad is going to start 2021 series of events with Vietnam Expo, Top Thai Brand.

We expect our following events in the last 6 months of the year will continue to be held on a good scale.

10. As a marketing partner of IBITA and VINEXAD, what should we do about the long-term development?

The long-term cooperation between IBITA and VINEXAD needs to be proactive from each side, proactively overcome the difficulties caused by pandemic effects and work together to find the best solution for customers.

In addition, the creativity and the development in digital transformation direction will support events and projects to be more successful, bringing the best benefits to customers and for each partner.
