K-Food+ Expands Export Paths with Buyer Invitation Consultation Session!

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (Minister Song Mee-ryung, hereinafter referred to as MAFRA) will hold an export consultation meeting (BKF + , Buy Korean Food + ) with the participation of 393 domestic export companies and overseas buyers to expand K-Food + exports from Wednesday, April 16 to Thursday, April 17 at the aT Center in Yangjae-dong, Seoul.

   * BKF + (Export Consultation Meeting): Provides consultation opportunities between overseas buyers and domestic export companies to expand Korean agricultural, food, and agricultural industry exports, and supports the discovery of new business partners

   * K-Food +  : Agricultural products (K-Food, fresh agricultural products, processed foods) and agricultural products (+, smart farms, agricultural equipment, pet food, etc.)

In the agricultural and food sector, 123 buyers * and 230 exporting companies   from 43 countries, including major markets (the U.S., China, and Japan) and promising markets (ASEAN, Europe, and the Middle East, etc.) , will participate, and in the agricultural industry, 10 buyers and 30 exporting companies from 7 countries will participate.

   * H-Mart (USA), Aeon (Japan), HKTV Mall (Hong Kong), Biglico Furman (Netherlands), Chef Middle East (UAE), etc.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs provided export companies with items of interest from overseas buyers *   before the consultation meeting so that export contracts (MOUs) could be signed on-site , and arranged online preliminary interviews between companies.

   * Beverages, snacks, noodles, seasonings and sauces, processed rice products, fresh fruits, kimchi, etc.

  Meanwhile, during this export consultation, a ‘K-Food Large and Small Enterprises Export Mutual Growth and Collaboration’ agreement ceremony will also be held. Export mutual growth and collaboration is to support the export of small and medium enterprises with high export potential by utilizing the infrastructure such as overseas distribution networks of large enterprises, so as to achieve mutual growth of large and small enterprises and expand export markets. Based on its local sales know-how in the US, Hyundai Green Food plans to introduce K-dessert products of small and medium enterprises hoping to expand overseas, such as Iksan Nonghyup (whipped cream chapssaltteok), Hanil Hood (Garak noodles), and SOM F&I (hotteok), to local distribution stores.

Minister Song Mei-ling said, “For export companies, the buyer invitation export consultation is a valuable stepping stone for them to make a broader leap into the global market, and for buyers, it is a good opportunity to widely promote excellent Korean agricultural, food, and agricultural products to the local market.” She added, “In order to respond to the rapidly changing export environment, such as the reciprocal tariffs with the United States, market diversification is more important than ever, so the government will continue to spare no support for export companies.”
