Korea Forest Service Helps Domestic Companies and Young Talents Wanting to Expand Overseas

The Korea Forest Service (Director Lim Sang-seop) announced on the 14th that it is recruiting participating companies and participants to support domestic forestry companies wishing to expand overseas and to foster young forestry talent.

First, in order to promote overseas expansion of domestic forestry companies, we are recruiting companies to participate in the preliminary environmental survey for overseas forest resource development. This project will support up to 70% (24 million won) of the preliminary survey costs for the local business target area, including the forest environment, infrastructure, investment system, and logistics conditions, to three companies. The application period is until May 2.

We are also conducting the third round of recruitment for participants in the Overseas Forestry Youth Talent Development Project. This project provides opportunities for young forestry talent to gain practical experience in overseas forest sites, thereby laying the foundation for overseas advancement and supporting their growth as global forestry experts. Applications for this project are open until April 17.

Detailed information and application methods can be found on the website of the Korea Forest Service (https://ofiis.kofpi.or.kr). In addition, you can check various information such as the status of overseas forest resource development, information by country, systems, and statistical data.

Nam Song-hee, the director of international forest cooperation at the Korea Forest Service, said, “We hope to see the participation of many companies interested in overseas forest development and young people who wish to grow into experts in the field of international forest cooperation,” and added, “We also plan to promote the 2025 secondary conservation (loan) project to revitalize overseas forest resource development projects in the future.”
