The International Beauty Industry Trade Association (IBITA, Chairman Joo-Tak Yoon) and KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) jointly organized a government-supported Korean pavilion at the world’s largest beauty exhibition, “Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna” to be held in Bologna, Italy in 2025, and had a grand opening with the selection of a record 110 participating companies.

In particular, Cosmoprof Bologna, Italy is drawing attention from around the world by forming the largest-ever national pavilion, with a total of 230 Korean companies and organizations, including major local governments in Jeju, Gyeongbuk, Chungbuk, and Gyeonggi, and individual participating companies, participating in the government-supported Korea Pavilion and the IBITA Korea Pavilion, which have been confirmed by IBITA for 2026-2028.

It will be held from March 20 to 23, 2025 in 37 halls in the Bologna Fiere Exhibition Centre in Italy, and the organizers announced that 3,100 companies from 60 countries around the world will participate. With an expected 300,000 visitors, Bologna Cosmoprof has established itself as an exclusive platform for the global cosmetics and beauty industry.

A noteworthy implication of this exhibition is that a multinational cooperation system has been put into operation, in which each country cooperates to carry out joint projects. In particular, the fact that the 16 GCC (Global Cosmetics Cluster) countries participated in Cosmoprof for the first time as special joint pavilions is significant. IBITA, the GCC representative office in Korea, announced that it will travel around the world and operate special international joint pavilions with the GCC. In the GCC special joint pavilion, members from the 19 countries can exhibit excellent selected products from each country and invite excellent integrated buyers from each country, so the synergy is expected to be so great that it is difficult to even estimate the results.

“This exhibition will be the best opportunity for K-beauty companies recognized in the global market to open up export markets,” said Eun-Jung Kim, Executive Director and General Manager of IBITA’s Korean Pavilion. “Cosmoprof is the world’s best trade fair and is the most influential event where beauty industry professionals gather. We will not spare any practical and helpful support to help domestic companies expand their overseas market sales.”

Meanwhile, IBITA International Beauty Industry Trade Association Chairman Yoon Ju-tak said, “We are supporting entry into the global beauty market by cooperating with several local governments in Korea, including Jeju, Gyeongbuk, Chungbuk, and Gyeonggi. Recently, we were selected as a joint operating organization for a promising exhibition from 2026 to 2028, so we are working closely with KOTRA to further expand our overseas market entry business.”

In addition, IBITA is a specialized organization that provides practical overseas exhibition support and export support by organizing and hosting Korean pavilions at promising global beauty fairs held in major countries such as Europe, the United States, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, with its own exclusive network that no other organization dares approach.

In particular, the government is actively supporting the global expansion of Korean companies by establishing government-supported national or group pavilions at all major cosmetics and beauty exhibitions around the world, including Cosmoprof in Bologna, Italy.

In particular, IBITA is in the process of expanding its department store presence and online/offline business sequentially starting with Dubai, Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia in cooperation with the Global Trade Promotion Agency, and is also supporting B2B business matching between companies through its excellent global network.

An IBITA official stated that despite the unstable times, they are actively working to support the participation of Korean cosmetics and beauty companies in exhibitions in major countries around the world, such as the UAE, Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia, with the goal of activating overseas exports, and to promote sustainable growth of the Korean cosmetics and beauty industry through online and offline stores and expansion of global networks.
